Introducing The Half Hour with YuYu Yuan and Spencer Travis and other Season Three News

We're back! Season three of the One Clap Speech and Debate Podcast will be kicking off with a focus on platform speaking events. One of the exciting developments of this season is the rise of an excellent new podcast that will get its start on the One Clap feed. This collaborative project is aimed at Extemporaneous Speakers (although the reach of this pod could be useful to debaters, congress competitors, and anyone interested in current events). The Half Hour features two familiar Wyoming Speech and Debate voices: YuYu Yuan (Cheyenne East graduate) and Spencer Travis (Green River graduate).

About The Half Hour

The Half Hour is a current events podcast designed with the intention of helping Extemp competitors (and other Speech and Debate members, as well as listening for the general public) understand the importance of political, social, or economical events on a domestic and international scale. As Extemp competitors only have half an hour to prep a speech, the podcast is designed to brief competitors in roughly the same amount of time it would take for them to prep. Each episode looks at both sides of current events while providing background information to help expand upon the issue. The Half Hour also looks into common questions that people may be asked relating to current events and will work to answer them based on credible news sources from both sides.

Episode One of The Half Hour will explore the conflict in Afghanistan. It should go live on Monday, August 30.
